How Time Flies!
We have still been very busy! Since my last blog - Hayden and the 5th & 6th grade football team won their championship game at WSU in Pullman....they were undefeated for the season! Hayden went right into wrestling without taking a break. He wrestled for both club and Middle School - he had a great season in both! He took 2nd place at Middle School districts after overcoming a rocky start with a 15-20 lb weight disadvantage (most of his opponents were that much heavier than him). He placed 3rd at club championships! He is now enjoying is time off from sports and getting ready for 4-h season. Taylor finally talked her dad into getting her a horse..."Pepsi"...she is a Quarterhorse/Paint and she is one of the nicest horses that I have been around. We are boarding her at a friends house and Taylor can't wait for her to come home and be in the pasture so she can ride her all the time. Taylor is also staying busy with Tap/Jazz, Gymnastics & twirling...she is getting ready for her recital performance in May. She says that this will be her last year in dance, but I can't see her giving up being on stage! This girl loves everything about being in the SPOTLIGHT! We spent Thanksgiving in Cabo with my grandpa and Janice. We had a great time and it seemed like the week just flew by! The kids had a blast...Hayden caught a 30 lb Dorado (Mahi Mahi), Taylor got to swim with the dolphins, we ate great food, meet nice people, swam/snorkeled in the Sea of Cortez and enjoyed the warm weather. We are really missing it and can't wait to return. We are hoping to go yearly now. We have a new addition to the Skinner family....my brother Charlie and Jill welcomed a baby girl to the family in January....we are grateful that she is here and that everyone is doing well. She is so cute and Hayden and Taylor love her so much! Hayden turned 12 in January and is now legal to shoot deer. He got a 243 rifle for his birthday and can't wait until hunting season rolls around! He has sighted it in and I must say is a pretty good aim - deer watch out.....! Dennis and I have been busy with our jobs.....right now is the slow time for both of us, but we still manage to stay busy with Booster Club, Jr Show & Sale, Saddle Club and running the kids here-there and everywhere! We have managed to go snowcatting up in Avery twice this year and are anxiously awaiting our trip to McCall in a couple of weeks. There is not enough snow here to ride much, so we are hoping to get some good riding in while we are in McCall. We should have 7 new additions to Tayden Lake Ranch shortly after we return from McCall....the cows should be calving and hopefully we will have 7 healthy baby calves! Hayden has 3 4-h steers to choose from this year and he also purchased a breeding heifer this year....along with raising pigs and a survival class! Needless to say, I think almost every weekend for us is booked from now until after the fair (IN AUGUST)!!!! We hope everyone is doing well and I will try to do better keeping this updated!
